Resubmitting Jobs

Jobs with a status of Complete, Stopped, or Terminated can be resubmitted. This allows you to stop jobs temporarily if a printer or computer is needed for another purpose, and then resume the job when resources are available. You can also set up routine jobs and restart them as new jobs on an as-needed basis.

To resubmit a job that has been completed, stopped, or terminated, do the following:

  1. In the Job Status grid, select a job with a Completed, Stopped, or Terminated status.
  2. Click Resubmit in the Job Management group on the ribbon.
  3. Do one of the following:

    Select your resubmission options.

    ClosedSchedule and resubmit a job.

    1. Select your resubmission options.
    2. Click Schedule Job.
    3. Do one of the following:
      • Select to run the job immediately.
      • Select to run the job when scheduled and set the date, time, and recurrence. ClosedExplain the scheduling options.
    4. If not run immediately, select a date, time, recurrence pattern, and, if scheduled to run more than once, a recurrence range. ClosedExplain the options on the Schedule Job window.
    5. Click Schedule.
  5. Click Resubmit.
  6. You can change options for the job, if needed.

    * Print options display when resubmitting jobs with the TIFF or printer destination. PDF print jobs are resubmitted automatically according to the original print options selected.

  7. Do one of the following:
    • Click Submit Job to submit the job for immediate processing.
    • Click Schedule Job to schedule the job to process at another date and time. See Scheduling and Rescheduling Jobs for more information.

Notes:

  • Electronic filing of 1040 extensions cannot be resubmitted. You can create a job to electronically file 1040 extensions that have been previously filed.
  • Your firm sets the number of days to keep job history. Jobs can be resubmitted during the period of time selected by your firm before jobs are deleted from the system. See Setting the Firm Job History Option for more information.
