Managing Questionnaires

Questionnaires are created by combining questions that you have created and stored in the library. You can send the same questionnaire to multiple clients as needed.

Note: The items you can view in the Library and the tasks you can perform there are determined by the Client Collaboration Library permissions set for you by the CCH Axcess administrator.

Use the procedures below to manage your questionnaires.

ClosedCreate a questionnaire template.

  1. Click and select Library.
  2. Click Questionnaires.
  3. Click Templates.
  4. Select Actions > New Template.
  5. Enter a title for the questionnaire in the Template title box.
  6. To change the folder where the questionnaire is saved, click the link next to the Template Location label, and then select the folder where the template should be stored.

    Note: See Managing Library Folders for information about creating new library folders.

  7. To add questions to the template, expand the Tax Prep: 1040 folder in the navigation pane, and then drag questions into the text box in the main pane.
  8. Do the following as needed to finalize the letter:
    • Rearrange the order of questions in the questionnaire. Click and drag individual questions in the main pane as needed to their new location in the letter.
    • Edit the text for a question. Click above the paragraph, and then make your changes to the text. Click to save your edits.
    • Remove a question. Click above the question.
  9. Click Save.

ClosedEdit a questionnaire template.

  1. Click and select Library.
  2. Click Questionnaires.
  3. Click the Templates tab.
  4. Click Tax Prep: 1040 to expand the list in the navigation pane.
  5. Right-click the questionnaire template in the navigation pane and select Edit, or select the template and click Actions > Edit Template.
  6. Make any necessary edits to the questionnaire. You can:
    • Add a new question. Drag a question from the left pane to the body of the template.
    • Rearrange the order of questions in the letter. Drag a question to a new location in the questionnaire by clicking and dragging the left border of the paragraph.
    • Edit the text for a question. Click above the question, and then make your changes. Click to save your edits.
    • Remove a question. Click above the question.
  7. Click Actions > Save Template.

ClosedRename a questionnaire template.

  1. Click and select Library.
  2. Click Questionnaires.
  3. Click the Templates tab.
  4. Click Tax Prep: 1040 to expand the list in the navigation pane.
  5. Click next to the template name.
  6. Edit the template name.
  7. Click.

ClosedDelete a template.

  1. Click and select Library.
  2. Click Questionnaires.
  3. Click the Templates tab.
  4. Click Tax Prep: 1040 to expand the list in the navigation pane.
  5. Right-click the template in the navigation pane and select Delete, or select the template and click Actions > Delete Template.
  6. Click Yes.
