Managing Questions

You can create questions in the Library, and then combine multiple questions into custom questionnaires. A single question can be used in multiple templates as needed.

Note: The items you can view in the Library and the tasks you can perform there are determined by the Client Collaboration Library permissions set for you by the CCH Axcess administrator.

ClosedCreate a question.

  1. Click and select Library.
  2. Click Questionnaires.
  3. Select Actions > New Question.
  4. Enter a title for the question.
  5. If you want to change the folder where the question is stored, click the link next to Question Location and select a different folder.

    Note: See Managing Library Folders for more information about working with library folders.

  6. Select the type of reply that you expect to receive for this question.
    • Section Headers. The text you enter for this question will be used as a section header for a group of related questions when used in a questionnaire.
    • Yes/No. Use this option to enter a Yes/No question.

      Note: If answering this question Yes will indicate that the client must provide additional information or documentation, you can also select the Do you want an answer of Yes to add a Document Request List Item check box. Then, indicate the Document Request List item that is required in the text box immediately below the check box.

    • Amount. Use this option to indicate that the answer to the question will be an amount.
    • Text. Use this option for open-ended questions.
  7. Enter the question in the large text bos in the main pane.
  8. Click Save.

ClosedEdit a question.

  1. Click and select Library.
  2. Click Questionnaires.
  3. Click Tax Prep: 1040 in the navigation pane to display the list of questions.
  4. Select the question in the navigation pane.
  5. Make any necessary edits to the question.
  6. Click Actions > Save Question.

ClosedRename a question.

  1. Click and select Library.
  2. Click Questionnaires.
  3. Click Tax Prep: 1040 in the navigation pane to display the list of questions.
  4. Select the question in the navigation pane.
  5. Click next to the question name.
  6. Edit the question name, and then click.

ClosedMove a question to a different folder.

  1. Click and select Library.
  2. Click Questionnaires.
  3. Click Tax Prep: 1040 in the navigation pane to display the list of questions.
  4. Select the question you want to move.
  5. Click the Question Location link that displays next to the question name in the main pane.
  6. Select the folder where the question should be moved to.
  7. Select Actions > Save Question.

ClosedDelete a question.

  1. Click and select Library.
  2. Click Questionnaires.
  3. Click Tax Prep: 1040 in the navigation pane to display the list of questions.
  4. Right-click the question in the navigation pane and select Delete, or select the question and click Actions > Delete Question.
  5. Click Yes.
