Downloading Client-Submitted Tax Documents from a Request

You can download the tax documents that your clients add to their requests at any time, even when a request is incomplete. Downloaded tax documents are packaged in a single ZIP file and include:

  • The engagement letter
  • The organizer
  • Any files uploaded by the client

Note: You must have the Requests Dashboard - IND Organizer and Tax Documents functional right to download files from a request. This is a separate functional right from the one required to download files from a Document Locker.

You can download files from any workflow status view. If you select Download tax documents on the Return Ready to Start status tab, the request is moved to the Return in Progress status tab.

After downloading files initially, if your client uploads additional files, you can choose to download just the new items. To draw your attention to these new files, the request will be included in the count on the New Documents Received tile on the Requests dashboard. Selecting to download only new items will not move the request to the Return in Progress tab.
