Deleting Worksteps from a Template

Keep in mind the following when you're deleting worksteps from a template:

  • Deleting an unlocked workstep removes it from the template, but not from existing projects that use the template.
  • For locked worksteps, what is deleted depends on whether there is unbilled WIP (time or expenses) for the workstep in the projects using the template.
  • If the workstep has: Then the workstep is deleted from:
No WIP entered All open projects and the template
All entered WIP has been billed The template only
Entered WIP not yet billed Neither the template, nor projects using the template

Worksteps can only be deleted from completed projects at the project level. See Deleting Project Worksteps for more information.

Note: To delete a workstep group, you first must remove the child worksteps from the group, then save the template or project. You can then delete the empty group as you would any other workstep.
