Managing Workstep Assignments for a Project

The Assignments section allows you to assign staff members to specific project worksteps, or, if you are using role-based assignments, assign staff members to specific roles for the workstep.

To manage workstep assignments, do the following:

  1. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Projects under Workstream.
  2. Open a workstep view that contains the worksteps you want to work with.
  3. Select one or more worksteps in the grid, and then click Open in the Edit group on the Home tab or right-click and select Open from the menu.
  4. Click the Assignments tab.
  5. Do any of the following as needed:
    • ClosedAdd an assignment.
      1. Click New Assignee to create a new row in the Assignments table.
      2. Complete the ClosedAssignments section for the new assignee.
      3. Select options in the ClosedSelection Criteria section.
    • ClosedEdit an assignment.
      1. Select a row in the grid.
      2. Edit the selections in the Assignments section as needed. See Add an Assignment above for more information.
      3. Edit the selections in the Assignments section as needed. See Add an Assignment above for more information.
      4. Click OK.
    • ClosedDelete an assignment.
      1. Select a row in the grid.
      2. Click Remove.
      3. Click Remove again on the confirmation window.
      4. Click OK.
  6. Click OK.

Notes

  • You can also update assignees using update multiple. See Managing Worksteps for Projects for more information on editing multiple worksteps.
  • Changes made to teams will not impact the assignments.
