Finding Projects in the Batch Link Utility

After the returns are found, you can define filters to locate the projects to link the returns to. The top of the window displays the numbers of:

  • Returns found. This is the total number of returns in the Tax application.
  • Returns excluded. These returns have already been linked to projects.
  • Returns available. The number of returns that have not been previously linked to a project.

To find the projects to link the available returns to, do the following:

  1. Select the Type for the projects. This is the only required filter. For more information on types, see Managing Project Types.
  2. Select any of the additional filters, if necessary.
    • Template. Select the template applied to the projects. For more information, see About Project Templates.
    • Project ID. Select a project ID to link to. Project IDs are not unique.
    • Completed/Open Projects. Select whether to display all, completed, or open projects. If you select to display open projects, which the status for those projects.
  3. Click Find Projects to find projects to link the available returns to and go to the Summary window.
