Setting Roll Forward Rules

Roll forward rules specify the options to use when a project created from this template is rolled forward. Setting these rules can make it easier for staff members to roll forward projects without having to worry about making mistakes. You can define roll forward rules in templates for recurring projects of any frequency. If a project frequency is set to one-time only, the option to set roll forward rules is not available.

Note: If needed, you can prevent individual projects from being rolled forward, even if the project template has roll forward options set up. To do so, select the Do not roll forward option on the General Information tab in the project profile.

To manage roll forward rules, do the following:

  1. ClosedOpen the Templates list.
    • From Dashboard. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Configuration > Project templates under Workstream.
    • In Workstream. Click Templates in the Manage group on the Manage ribbon.
  2. Select a project template, and then click. You can also right-click and select Open from the menu.
  3. Click Roll Forward Rules on the navigation panel.
  4. Enter information to define the roll forward rules for projects that will be created from this template.
  5. ClosedExplain the roll forward rules components.

  6. Click one of the ClosedSave buttons or Cancel.

Notes:

  • The Would you like to adjust this amount up or down for the new project question and associated rules are only available if Set at the project was chosen as the budget method in the Project budget hours and amounts section.
  • Statutory due date option is only listed in the Other fields grid if there are no forms on the project template.
