How to Use the Affected Clients List
The following steps can help you identify clients to approach about providing advisory services.
- Review and understand the Affected Client criteria. The criteria used to identify affected clients is set by CCH analysts and cannot be changed. You can review this criteria at the top left portion of the window. Click
to the right of a criteria line to display additional information about that item. - Filter the list as needed to focus on a specific group of clients. Click the Grid Filters icon
in the top right of the page to view the available filters. Select options for the filters, and then click Update Clients to refresh the list.
Tell me more about the available filters. - Search for client name or client ID. Find any client name or client ID in the affected clients list by entering your search term in the text box at the top of the screen and pressing enter.
- Add more data columns for additional context. For each event, our analysts have identified additional data columns from the tax return that can be useful in evaluating an affected client's situation. You can use these columns to further inform your decisions about which opportunities to pursue. See Adding and Filtering Data Columns for Affected Clients for more information.
- Open individual returns as needed to review more specifics. Click the link in the Return ID column to open a client's tax return.
