Using the Advisor Events Pane in Client Dashboard
The Advisor Events pane in Client Dashboard summarizes announced, proposed, and final changes to tax rulings that affect a specific client. Using the Client Dashboard pane can help you prepare for meeting with that client and give you a broader view of all the potential tax rulings that might impact this client.
To access the Advisor Events pane in Client Dashboard:
- Click Client Dashboard on the Dashboard navigation panel.
Select a client.- Add the Advisor Events pane to the Client Dashboard, if it is not already displayed. See Adding, Moving, or Removing Panes in Client Dashboard for more information.
Pane Overview
The pane lists the following details:
- Date. The date each news event was published. By default, the grid is sorted by date in descending order.
- Title. A short description of each news event.
- Status. Indicates where a news event is in the legislative process. The status can be Announced, Proposed, or Final.
- View Return. Links to current or prior year tax returns for the selected client that might be impacted by the event. Only returns that you have access to are listed.
- View Letter. Links to a downloadable letter for each news event. You can send this letter to clients, copy the contents to an email, or use the letter content to guide conversations with your clients. See Using the Client Letters for more information.
Pane Actions
You can do any of the following:
- Refresh. Click
in the pane title bar to update the list with the most current events. Your filter selections (see Apply settings below) are retained after a refresh. - View description. Hover over a title to display the expanded description.
- Link to news item. Click a title to open the full publication, including an overview of the ruling and how it applies to clients. See Reviewing CCH Axcess Advisor News Details for more information.
- Link to affected returns. Click
to access the returns affected by the news event. If more than one return for the client is affected, you can select the specific return from the list. - Download letter. Click
to open the letter associated with a news event that you can use to alert clients of regulation changes. Save and edit the letter as needed. - Apply settings. Click
to filter the events by status. You can choose to display all news items or events tagged as favorite. You can filter the by Status or Jurisdiction. Click
on the Settings window to save your selection and update the news events that display in the pane.
