Creating Workstep Groups

You can combine worksteps that should occur concurrently into a workstep group. You can add workstep groups to templates and projects. All worksteps in a group must be completed before the workstep group is considered completed and the next workstep can begin. See About Workstep Groups for more information.

Note: You must have permission to add or edit templates to add a workstep group to a template. You must have permission to add or edit projects to add a workstep group to a project.

To create a workstep group, do the following:

  1. Open the template or project that should have a workstep group.
  2. Click Worksteps on the navigation panel.

    Note: If the Worksteps option does not display on the navigation panel, then the template was not set up to include worksteps.

  3. If needed, create the worksteps that will be in the group.
  4. Select the worksteps that you want to group.
    • To select multiple contiguous worksteps at one time, press and hold Shift while selecting worksteps.
    • To select multiple non-contiguous worksteps at one time, press and hold Ctrl while selecting worksteps.
  5. Click Group.
  6. Do one of the following:
    • To add the worksteps to an existing group, select Existing group, and then select a group from the list.
    • To add worksteps to a new group, select New group, and then enter a group name.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click a ClosedSave option.
