Managing Custom Fields in a Template

You can include custom fields in a template if custom fields were enabled and selected for that template's project type. You also must select Yes for the Use Custom Fields question on the General Information tab in the template.

Any values entered for custom fields in the template will apply to the projects created with this template.

  1. ClosedOpen the Templates list.
    • From Dashboard. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Configuration > Project templates under Workstream.
    • In Workstream. Click Templates in the Manage group on the Manage ribbon.
  2. Select a project template, and then click. You can also right-click and select Open from the menu.
  3. On the General Information tab, select Yes for the Use custom fields question.
  4. Note: A gray lock icon indicates the question is locked at the project type level. The lock icon is yellow if the question is locked in the template.

  5. Click Custom Fields on the navigation panel.
  6. Click Custom Fields on the button bar. You can also right-click the grid and select Custom Fields.
  7. In the top grid, select the custom fields to add to the template, and then click . You can add all of the listed custom fields by clicking .
  8. When all the custom fields have been added to the bottom list, click OK.
  9. If needed, select default values for the custom fields in the Value column.
  10. Click Save.

  4. Enter or select different values for the custom fields in the Value column.
  5. Click Save.

  2. Select a project template, and then click. You can also right-click and select Open from the menu.
  3. Click Custom Fields on the navigation panel.
  4. In the grid, select the custom field you want to remove from the template.
  5. Click Remove on the button bar.
  6. Click Remove to confirm the removal.
  7. Click Save.
