Reviewing the Field Override Report

The Field Override report displays a summary of the government form overrides in a return. The override detail in the report links to the return fields to which they apply. You can view the override detail while you work with a government form, allowing you to move between the report and the applicable field in the form. To display the Field Override report, open a return that has at least one overridden government form field and do the following:

  1. Select Calc > Return in the Process group on the Home tab, if the return has not been calculated since the last update.
  2. Click Overrides in the Reports group on the Review tab. The Field Override report displays override details, including the form names, descriptions, and override amounts.
  3. To review or edit an override, do one of the following:
    • Select a row of override detail in the grid and click below the grid.
    • Double-click a row of override detail.
  4. The report links to the applicable form field in the tax return, allowing you to review or edit the information. You must activate the override before editing the entry.

  5. Make changes to the override, as necessary.
  6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to review or edit other overrides.
  7. Do one of the following:
    • Click Print to display the Print Options window, and then do the following:
      1. Select the number of copies, print destination, and, if needed, print device and watermark.
      2. If you are printing to PDF or TIFF, enter or browse to and select the file destination.
      3. Click Print to print the Field Override report.
    • Note: You can also send PDF or TIFF files to Document, and PDF files to ProSystem fx Engagement if you have enabled the option to do so in User Options > Tax > Interface Options.

    • Click Close to close the Field Override report.
