Setting Your Client DataXchange Interface User Options

The system can be configured to prompt you to create a Client DataXchange export file every time an Estate return is closed. The export file can be used with ViewPlan, an estate planning product. When you close the return, you are able to specify a file name with the extension .cip and the drive and directory where the file will be stored.

To set your Client DataXchange option, do the following:

  1. Do one of the following to open User Options:
    • Select User Options on the Dashboard navigation panel.
    • Click the Application button and select User Options.
  2. Click Tax > Interface Options > Client DataXchange on the navigation panel.
  3. Select Automatically export file when an Estate (706) return is saved to be prompted to create an export file each time an Estate return is saved.
  4. Click OK to save your changes.
