Exports Available in Tax

You can export data from Tax returns using the following tools:

• Export Wizard. The export wizards allow you to export data from the currently open return. They are accessible from the Import / Export ribbon. After an export completes, you can view and print detailed information about the export. What kinds of data can I export with the wizards?

• Worksheet grid exports. Many worksheet grids in Tax provide the ability to export data from the grid to a spreadsheet. An export icon,, displays above grids that have this ability.
• Batch exports in Return Manager. Use the following two exports to generate files for creating or updating returns in Tax:
  • Return transfer exports. This type of export allows you to export data from a return so it can be imported into a pre-migration version of Tax.
  • Tax data exports. Tax data exports are a special type of export used to create files that can then be imported into new returns. The data is exported to a special type of file called a "recall file." Most firms will not need to use this type of export.
• TaxTransfer. TaxTransfer is a tool your firm can use to export return data to an XML file. To use TaxTransfer, your firm must create a custom program that works with the Open Integration Kit.
