Selecting Destination Fields

If you are importing an Excel file, you will be asked if the first row contains box names. Examine the data provided to determine if the first row contains box names or data.

Click a data column to select it. Then select the Destination box name from the list provided. For columns that should not be imported, select <Do not import this column> in Destination field name. After a column is mapped, the header text changes from (unmapped) to (mapped).

Several destination fields require additional information.

Mapping to a Date Field

Examine the data in the column you specified as the source for the date. Select a date format from the list provided. Determine the character that separates month, day, and year. Select the separator from the list provided.

Mapping to a Client Field

Examine the data in the selected column. If Client ID and client sub-ID are in separate columns in your import file, no action is required. If both the Client ID and client sub-ID are in the same column, select Client subordinate is included in this column and provide additional information for importing the Client ID and client sub-ID.

If there is a character or space that separates the Client ID and the client sub-ID, select Separator and enter the character that separates them.

If the Client ID and client sub-ID do not have a separator, specify the number of characters in the Client ID in Client length. Count the position in the characters where the client sub-ID begins and enter that number in Sub start. The number entered in Sub start must be larger than the number entered in Client length.

Mapping to an Override Rate/Amount Field

Select Rate or Amount, depending on the data in the column. Depending on your firm's settings, you may be prompted or required to enter an Override reason. You can select an Override reason from the list provided.

If you do not map any column to an Override Rate/Amount destination, and you do not specify a default for Override Rate/Amount, the system calculates both rate and amount when importing transactions.

If you map a column to Override Rate/Amount and select Rate, the system calculates the amount. If you map a column to Override Rate/Amount and select Amount, the system calculates the rate.
