Fixing Transaction Import Errors
There are several methods of correcting import errors. Transactions can be corrected in the source file or the source file may be left without changes.
Correcting Errors
Explain how to correct errors without changing the source
This method produces the best assurance that all transactions are entered and duplicate transactions are not entered, maintaining the integrity of the source file. This method typically requires a parameter set with mapping to import the error file.
To correct errors, do the following:
- Click
on the Errors tab. This creates a file that can be imported to Practice.
- Click

- Print the report.
- Determine any necessary corrections from the report.
- If needed, create a parameter set with mapping for use with the error file. See Separating Fields for information about creating a parameter set.
- Import the error file using the Confirm each transaction before import option on the Options tab.
- Make any needed corrections on the window.
- Click Import to place each transaction in Time Capture.
Explain how to correct errors by editing the source file
- Click
on the Errors tab.
- Print the report and use the printout to correct the source file.
- Import the source file again, using the Confirm each transaction before import option.
- As each transaction displays on the window, refer to the transaction report and do one of the following:
- If the transaction report indicates the transaction was successfully posted, click Skip to ignore the transaction.
- If the transaction report indicates the transaction was not successfully posted, click Save to import the transaction.
