Previewing Imported Files

The Preview tab allows you to look at the information being imported and shows how the system will use the information. The Preview tab is a valuable tool for confirming and correcting mappings in your parameter sets.

Explain the components of the window.

Component	Description
Filename	Displays the name of the file being imported.
Parameter set	Displays the name of the parameter set. See Separating Fields for more information.
Source file record	Displays the information as it appears in your source.
Destination transaction	Displays the information as it will be imported to Time Capture.
Import	Click to import the displayed information.
Cancel	Click to cancel the import.

Explain how to move through the transactions being imported.

The current transaction number and total number of transactions display in the lower left of the window. The following buttons allow you to move through the transactions:

Button	Action
Double left arrow	Moves to the first transaction in the file.
Left arrow	Moves to the previous transaction in the file.
Right arrow	Moves to the next transaction in the file.
Double right arrow	Moves to the last transaction in the file.
