Creating a Client List for Portal

You can establish links between CCH Axcess or CCH ProSystem fx Suite clients and the standalone version of Portal. To create the links, you must export a list of clients from CCH Axcess or CCH ProSystem fx Suite, and then import that list into Portal.

Tip: Using the batch client linking will save your firm a great deal of time because you are no longer required to manually select the client to link to when publishing files.

To export client data, do the following:

  1. Do one of the following, depending on which application you use:
    • CCH Axcess. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Create client list for Portal under Utilities.
    • CCH ProSystem fx Suite. Open Dashboard, click Applications on the navigation panel, and then click Create client list for Portal under Utilities.
  2. Note: You must have Edit Firm Setup permissions to select this option.

  3. Select the Quick Search criteria, and then click Go to select which clients to export.
  4. Click Export.
  5. Select where to save the export file. The file can be in CSV, XLS, or XLSX format.

    Note: The default location is c:\users\<user name>\Downloads, where c:\ is your local drive and <user name> is the name of the user logged in to the machine. The default file name is PortalSaaSClient_<system date>_<system time>.

  6. Click Save.
  7. Open Portal and complete the batch client link.
