Managing the Integrations with Other Wolters Kluwer Applications

Note: This topic describes features that are available only to firm administrators and firm users with administrative privileges. Portal users cannot set up integrations with other Wolters Kluwer applications.

The following Wolters Kluwer applications allow you to publish files directly to client portals:

  • CCH Axcess Tax. You can print and publish individual returns and organizers to Portal. You can also batch print organizers to Portal.
  • CCH Axcess Practice. You can publish invoices from Practice to client portals.
  • CCH ProSystem fx Tax. You can print and publish individual returns and organizers to Portal. You can also batch print organizers to Portal.
  • CCH ProSystem fx  Engagement. You can send workpapers back and forth between Portal and Engagement.

Note: If your firm licenses the 8879 Manager add-on, you also can publish the 8879 package to Portal. The 8879 package includes the 8879 Consent Form, the tax return, and the tax filing instructions. This option is available for CCH Axcess Tax andCCH ProSystem fx Tax.

For best results, the firm administrator should complete the following steps before staff begins publishing files from other Wolters Kluwer applications:

  • Use the batch client linking feature to establish links between portals and clients. This step is not required, but completing it could save staff time. If you do not batch link clients, then the first time a staff member attempts to publish a file from a Wolters Kluwer application, the system will prompt the staff member to select the correct portal for the client. If the staff member is publishing a batch of files, each file will need to be linked individually to the correct portal.
  • Select default publication folders for the source application in each folder template. If no default folder is selected for a source application, the system will create a new folder at the root level of the portal.
  • Select whether firm users can provide other firm users temporary permission to publish to a portal. By default, firm users can only publish to a portal if they have permission to access that portal. However, firm users can be given temporary permission to publish to a portal if your firm selects the option to allow elevated permissions.

Note: See the Help files in the other Wolters Kluwer applications to view instructions on publishing files to Portal.
