Resetting a Login Password

If you have administrative assigned rights, you can reset a password for a member of your firm. A staff may ask to have their password reset for various reasons, for example, if the system has locked on them after they have forgotten their password and exceeded the maximum entry attempts.

Note: The CCH Axcess login allowed box must be selected in a staff member's profile. See Entering General Staff Information for more information.

To reset a password, do the following:

  1. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Staff Manager under Staff.
  2. In the grid, select the row of the staff member whose password you need to reset.
  3. Select Reset Login Password in the Settings group on the Home tab. If your firm's email server has been configured in firm setup, the staff will receive an email containing a confirmation of the password reset along with a temporary password. If the email server is not configured, you will receive an email instructing you to notify the staff member of the temporary password.
