You can assign functional rights to a role if you selected Staff acting in this role should inherit rights specific to the role from the Role Profile > General window.
Only rights recognized when staff act in roles display. Administrative rights that are not related to roles are hidden.
The rights defined with the role are applied when the staff are assigned to the role and are working on the project where the role is assigned.
To set up functional rights for a role, do the following:
Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Roles under Security.
Displays a tab with the name of each product licensed by the firm. When a tab is selected, the list area in each column refreshes to show the rights for the selected tab.
Module/Function Description
Includes the names of the modules and their functions for the selected product.
For some product modules, the functions are broken down into multiple levels of subordinate functions.
Roles cannot have Add rights assigned. These must be added at the security group.
Edit/Perform
Specifies whether the staff acting in the role will be able to edit a record or perform a function.
Note: Selecting Grant for the Edit/Perform column displays this value in the View column and cannot be edited.
View
Specifies whether the staff acting in the role will be able to view the data specified by the function description, for example, the right to view client profiles.
Note: Selecting Grant in the Add or Edit/Perform columns displays this value in the View column and cannot be edited.
Delete
Specifies whether the staff inheriting the rights of the role will be able to Delete the data specified by the function description, for example, the right to delete client profiles.
Grant All
Changes all rights in the selected product to Grant.
Clear All
Changes all rights in the selected product to N/A.
Saves the changes and the window stays open for editing. An error message displays if you click this button before entering all required information.
Save & New
Saves the changes and opens a new window to create a new entry. An error message displays if you click this button before entering all required information.
Note: This option is not available in edit mode.
Save & Close
Saves the changes and exits the window. An error message displays if you click this button before entering all required information.
