Welcome to DataScan

This module provides a user-defined query for searching client files of different applications to extract certain types of data. With DataScan, you can turn your client data into reports that can be used to provide fast, personalized service to clients. By utilizing DataScan, you can search for clients affected by tax law changes, particular client profile information, or client history.

Flexible and Easy to Use

  • Build your scan using simple words and phrases, or use the pre-configured searches compiled for you by CCH as a starting point for your custom searches.
  • Save often-used scans.
  • Design your own customized reports.

Put a Wide Variety of Scans to Work for You

An easy-to-access list of scan options allows you to quickly analyze current and prior-year return data, client profiles, engagements, and client status and activities. You can customize scan criteria and search as deeply into your client database as necessary to pinpoint information.

Work in Other Parts of CCH Axcess While Using DataScan

You can now access other areas of CCH Axcess, such as tax returns, reports, etc., while working in DataScan.

Example: With the DataScan module open, you can open a tax return and define a keyword while having a new search open. This allows you to add keywords on the fly when creating or editing searches. You also could access Client Manager to verify client data while editing searches. This enhancement allows you to work throughout CCH Axcess while creating or running searches, minimizing downtime.

The following windows do not offer this capability:

  • Copy scan
  • Submit scan
  • Error and warning messages
