Selecting Data to Migrate

When selecting the data to migrate, to maintain the links between your data, such as projects and WIP, all data must be migrated at the same time. Any future migration will not restore the links in CCH Axcess.

To select the data to migrate, do the following:

  1. Choose from the following options to select the data to migrate:
    • Practice. Migrate all Practice data, including time and expense transactions, WIP, and AR.
    • Common data. Migrate only the information that is common for client and staff data, and the minimum amount of data that can be migrated. This option is checked and disabled by default.

Note: Selecting any option that does not include Practice and Projects strips all references to Project IDs from your WIP transactions and prevents the running of reports to see the budget and actual amount of WIP per project. Any projects or Practice transactional data migrated at a later time are no longer linked by project.

  2. Select the amount of Practice history to migrate by selecting one of the following options:
    • Migrate all records including historic details. All transactions are migrated. Depending on the number of years contained in the history database, this selection could considerably increase the migration processing time. Selecting this option allows the running of reports on historical data to compare years of data. Once this option has been selected and at least one record migrated, it cannot be changed.
    • Migrate all records with details of open items. This option migrates any WIP transaction or AR record that contains a balance. Details of zero balances and closed or completed records are not migrated. Once you have selected the amount of data to migrate, and at least one record migrated, you cannot change this option.
