Migrating NAICS Codes

CCH Axcess uses standardized NAICS codes, meaning that some codes will be remapped in CCH Axcess. Although the utility will match codes by industry standards where possible, the decision is yours when the program does not have enough information. Individual and fiduciary clients will no longer have a business or NAICS code.

Do the following to resolve mapping questions and specify whether to keep the old codes as additional information or client groupings:

1. To retain the NAICS code for individual and fiduciary clients, select Create a custom client field. The code will be available in a custom field in Practice. The default setting is to not save the code.
2. For each NAICS code in the table, verify that the columns contain the correct information for your migration:
   • Business Code. Select a business code if needed.
   • Create Custom Field. Saves the code for each client to a custom field available in Practice.
   • Create Client Group. Assigns the clients to a client group named with the NAICS code. The group will be available for filtering and selection processes.
   • Do Not Migrate. This option is not available if one of the other options is selected. The clients with this setting still migrate, but the original NAICS code does not migrate to CCH Axcess.
