Managing Your Work in the My Assignments Pane

The My Assignments pane displays projects and worksteps that are assigned to you and ready for your attention. You can perform many basic project management tasks, such as updating the status or opening the route sheet, from this pane. Completed projects do not display in the My Assignments pane.

Note: The Project Assignments pane also displays work assigned to you. The work shown there is not specific to the current status, workstep, or file holder for a project, and might not be ready for you to work on.

Before you can use the My Assignments pane, you must add it to your dashboard. See Adding, Moving, or Removing Panes in Your Dashboard for more information.

Specify the Assignments to Display

You can specify which assignments you want to display in this pane by doing the following:

  1. If the Include projects where I am... section does not display, click above the list to display it.
  2. Select the check boxes for Closedeach criterion you want to use to identify your projects. You can apply multiple criteria at the same time.

You can select to include projects where you are:

    • The current file holder.
    • Assigned to the current open workstep.
    • Assigned to the workstep with the earliest planned start date.
    • The person who is assigned to a specific role on a project with a specific status. You must select both the role and status.
  3. Note: If an item meets any of the selected criteria, it displays in your list. A project does not have to meet all of the selected criteria.

  4. Click Save.
  5. Click again to hide the configuration section.

The Closedinformation that displays for each item in the list varies depending on the size of the pane and whether the item is a project or workstep.

Sorting and Searching the List

You might need to click in the Filters section to display the sort and search options.

By default, the list is sorted by the date of the last status update. Select an option from the Sort by box to choose a different sort field. You can also click the arrow next to the Sort by box to indicate if the list should be sorted in ascending or descending order.

To search for text in the list, enter the text you want to find in the Search box, and then click Search.
