ClosedSelecting Another Client

The client lookup, located on the upper-left corner of Client Dashboard, is used to select a new client by client ID or by client name. Follow step 2 in the topic Displaying a Client to select a client.

ClosedOpening the Client or Client Contact Profile

To view more information or edit the client or client contact information, you can open the client's or client contact's profile from the Client Dashboard. To open the client profile, click Profile on the button bar. To open the client contact profile, click the client contact name in the Client and Contact Information pane.

ClosedSending Time Clock Transaction Detail to Practice

You  can record your time spent managing client transactions from Client Dashboard and post the time clock detail to Practice Time Capture. The time clock transaction detail then becomes WIP transactions that can be used for billing records.

To use this interface option, Practice must be licensed and installed, and you must be granted the Time transactions for self functional right.

Using Time Clock Controls

The following time clock controls display on the Client Dashboard button bar.

Control Description
Creates a new clock and starts the timer.

Pauses the time clock. Pausing the clock does not send time transaction detail to Practice.

Note: If you selected Allow Clocks to Run Simultaneously in your Time Capture User Options, other clocks are allowed to run concurrently; otherwise, all clocks are paused when you restart a paused clock.

Resumes a paused time clock.
Stops the time clock. The Enter Transaction window displays, allowing you to enter transaction information and post the time clock transaction to Practice.
Deletes the time clock transaction.

Entering Transaction Detail

When you stop the time clock, the Enter Transaction window displays, allowing you to enter transaction information and post the time transaction to Practice. The available options on the Enter Transaction window are based on the Time Capture settings that are configured for your firm.

After entering transaction information, click any of the following:

  • Save & Post. Saves the time clock transaction and posts the detail in Time Capture. Once the transaction has been posted, it can only be changed by staff with functional rights assigned to change posted WIP.
  • Save & Close. Saves the time clock transaction without posting the detail in Time Capture. You can edit and post the transaction information in the Daily Entry window at a later time.
  • Cancel. Closes the Enter Transaction window without saving your changes and continues running the time clock.

ClosedCopying Text from the Dashboard

You can copy information from the Client Dashboard or from one of its secondary windows, such as the Addresses or Phones popup window, so it can be pasted in another application.

To copy client data, do the following:

  1. Click in a field on the Client Dashboard.
  2. Do any of the following to select the text:
    • Use your mouse
    • Click the field and press Ctrl+A on your keyboard.
  3. Right-click the field again and select Copy from the menu, or press Ctrl+C on your keyboard to copy the text.

You can directly link to supporting information for and assistance with CCH Axcess™. Click Get Support, located in the status bar, to do the following:

  • View trending articles. Click any of the links provided to read topical information about the products you use.
  • Ask a question. Submit a question or comment in a Support case. You can track your case using a link on the Support site or from a link in the email notification that Support sends. You receive another email notification when Support responds to your request.
