Enabling Letter Templates
Letter templates must be associated with a return configuration set for the letter to generate in a return using that return configuration set. Keep in mind, letter templates are enabled for a specific tax year and return type, as well as a return configuration set. In addition, the letter type must be selected for preparation in the return configuration set or in the tax return.
If you want to set the template to generate or render in tax returns for selected return configuration sets, do the following:
- If needed, select the tax year and return type from the available lists in the left pane of the Correspondence Manager window, and then click.
- Right-click a letter template in the library and select Enable Letter Template from the menu.
- Select return configuration sets for the letter template. You can also select Enable from the column header to select all return configuration sets.
- Click Save. The Enabled icon,, displays next to the template name in the library.
Viewing Enabled Letter Templates
To display all the letter templates that are enabled for the selected tax year, return type, and return configuration set in the Letter Template Library, do the following:
- If needed, select the tax year and return type from the available lists in the left pane of the Correspondence Manager window, and then click.
- Click on the Letters ribbon tab to display the Enabled Letter Templates window.
- Select a return configuration set.
- To limit the display to only custom or standard letter templates, select Custom Templates or Standard Templates from the Content Type list. Otherwise, accept All as the content type.
- Click Close to close the Enabled Letter Templates window.
