The Restore return options window displays when a return already exists for a client. To ensure the return is not overwritten, you can create a new version of the return or enter a different client ID. You can also choose to skip the restore or to continue and overwrite the existing return.
Select New from the Return version list in the Selected Return column and click the New button to create a return using the next available version number.
Select the applicable return version from the Return version list in the Selected Return column. Click the Overwrite button to replace the existing return version with the new return.
Edit information in the Selected Return column to create a client for the return. Information from the current return displays in the Existing Return column. Explain the available options.

Description
Client ID
Enter a different client ID, or create a client by entering a new client ID. If your firm requires sub-ID, enter a period after the client ID, and then enter the sub-ID. For example, Client ID.SubID.
Return version
Select an existing return or select New to create a new return version. New is the only available option if you edited the client ID.
Client type
Displays the client type and is not editable.
Name 1
If you entered a client ID that does not exist, enter a client name (first name for Individual returns).
Name 2
If you entered a client ID that does not exist, enter a client name (last name for Individual returns).
SSN/EIN
Displays the SSN/EIN and is not editable.
Return group
If you entered a client ID that does not exist, select a return group from the list if creating a client.
Configuration set
Select a configuration set from the list if creating a client.
Office
If you entered a client ID that does not exist, select an office from the list if creating a client.
Business unit
If you entered a client ID that does not exist, select a business unit from the list if creating a client.
Note: Business unit is only available if your firm has more than one business unit.
