CCH Axcess Advisor Advisory Workflow

Once you are comfortable with the basics of using Advisor, consider formalizing an end-to-end advisory workflow similar to the one below. Maintaining a standardized process for engaging clients can reduce the chance of missed steps and increase productivity.

  1. Review the list of Advisor events. New opportunities are added to Advisor on a weekly basis. To manage this growing list of events, you can customize it with filters.
  2. Send the client letter to affected clients. Each Advisor event provides client letters that can be used “out of the box,” but you should consider how to tailor the message to make it your own.

After the initial communication is sent out and services are agreed upon by the client, create new projects in CCH Axcess™ Workflow to track their progress. You can rely on CCH Axcess Workflow to track milestone dates and send out notifications to stay on top of these engagements.

  3. Gather information. Each Advisor event provides a wealth of information to raise your awareness of underlying tax issues. To gain even more insight, follow the links in each event to CCH® AnswerConnect, the one place to get instant access to accurate answers. This additional information can provide valuable expertise to help you make the most of each opportunity for your clients.
  4. Use your expertise to create a plan of action to present to your clients. Managing expectations and agreed-upon next steps instills confidence in your expertise and administrative abilities.
  5. Track your project to completion in Workflow. Executing your engagement in Workflow will help you manage all the business deliverables provided by Advisor events. This will cut down on wasted time while your project is on hold, waiting on others to complete tasks.
  6. Present your deliverables to your client through CCH Axcess™ Portal. After all your research and preparation, delight your clients by making it easy for them to see the results of your labor.

Note: To publish content to Portal, you must also license CCH Axcess™ Document.
