Changes include a change in the contact person or telephone number on the application, a change in the company's structure, change of address, etc. The IRS may periodically require a new 8633 even if you have no changes to your old application. They will let you know when a new application is necessary.

A. If you accidentally release a return but have not transmitted it, you can unrelease it by simply going to the Release screen. Highlight the return and click on Remove. The return will be removed from the bottom section of the Release screen and placed in the top section.
If you accidentally release a return and transmit it, call the ProSystem Electronic Filing Support Staff immediately. The ELF staff may be able to stop the return from transmitting to the IRS. If the return has already been sent to the IRS, you will have to wait to see if it is accepted. If it is accepted there is nothing more we can do. At this point you may want to contact the IRS. If the return is rejected it is not considered a filed return.

A. If the SSN and name on the return matches the number and name on the SSN card then you should call the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213. If the SSN or name is different, the correct information should be entered and the return reprocessed for electronic filing.
