Understanding Roles
The tasks you can perform in a portal are determined by the following:
- The security role assigned to you. Security roles specify the user and portal management tasks you have permission to perform. Examples of permissions that are granted via security roles are adding, editing, and deleting users.
- The file management role assigned to you. File management roles specify which file-related tasks you have permission to perform. Examples of permissions that are granted via file management roles are checking out, downloading, or renaming files.
A default security user role and file management role was assigned to you when your user account was created. You can only be assigned one security role. Your file management role can vary by portal.
