Editing a Portal User

  1. Click or tap Client Users on the banner bar.
  2. Do one of the following, depending on the type of device you are using:
    • Desktop computer. Select the check box for the user you want to edit, and then click Edit.
    • Tablet computer. Tap the button next to the user you want to edit, and then select Edit.
  3. Edit the information on the User Profile tab as needed.

    Notes:

    •  If you change the security role assigned to a user, you must also specify which portals the new role should apply to. See About Security User Roles for information about selecting the correct security user role for a user.
    • For additional security, we recommend adding at least one phone number to the user's profile. Client Axcess uses this phone number to send a verification code when the user first logs into Client Axcess on a device or when resetting the user's password.
  4. Edit the Closeduser's options for each portal on the Assigned Portal tab as needed.
    1. Select the file management role the user should have for this portal.
    2. Keep the Grant Access check box selected to allow the user to access the portal once you save this page. Clear the check box if you do not want to give access immediately.

      Note: Clearing the Grant Access box deletes the user from the list of users for the specified portal. If the user has access to multiple portals, the user is not deleted from any other portals.

    3. If needed, enter a date in the Access Expiration box when this user's access to the portal should expire.
    4. Select the My Files Access check box to grant portal users access to the My Files area. Clear the check box to revoke access to the My Files area.

      Note: This option is only available if the firm providing the portal has licensed this feature and enabled it for the portal.

  5. If needed, Closedassign additional portals to the user.
    1. Click or tap Assign more portals.
    2. Enter all or part of a portal name in the search box, and then click  .
    3. Select the needed portal from the Search Results list.
    4. Set the user options for the additional portals as needed. See step 4 above for information about the user options.
  6. Click or tap Save and Close.
