Deleting Files

You can delete files that you have uploaded to a portal, assuming you have the necessary permissions.

If you uploaded a file to the portal, you can delete the file from that portal. If another user uploaded the file to the portal, you can request that file be deleted. A user at the firm that provided you the portal must complete the deletion. When you submit a request for deletion, an email is sent to the firm users with permission to delete the file from the portal.

Deleted files are sent to the recycle bin.

Note: Files that are locked or checked out cannot be deleted.

To delete a file, do the following:

  1. Locate the file on the Files page.
  2. Do one of the following, depending on the type of device you are using:
    • Desktop computer. Select the check boxes for the files to be deleted, and then click. Select Delete or Request for Deletion.
    • Tablet or phone. Tap next to the file you want to delete, and then select Delete. Files can only be deleted one at a time when you use Client Axcess on a tablet or phone.
  3. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.
